Discovered: Question 5f

Act I, Scenes 4, 5: Describe how the Hanukkah celebration in Scene 5 is interrupted. What does Peter do to make matters worse? According to Dussel, how will this incident lead to their discovery by the police?

In Hanukkah celebration a robber came in and went out cause of the noise the cat made. Mr. Frank tried to go out and close the door, but the police came so they had to comeback and hid. They had to be fast. Mouschi, the trouble maker, made a noise and the police where really thinking about it and asking theirselves where the sound comes from. Later Mouschi makes those cat noise and finally the police notices that it was a cat sound and goes away. Everyone was really nervous and fearful because the police almost foundout the Secret Annex. They had problems with the cat and the cat-allergic person, Mr. Dussel tried to take away the cat and send it away, but Anne and Peter stopped it. Mr. Dussel always say the negative things and he think he is caught and the next day, Mr. Kraler came and told someone kind of knew there is hidden room behind the bookshelf and he wants better payment. Mr. Dussel told Mr. Kraler to pay him more because he could be telling everyone and if he does they are in big danger. Mr. Dussel was wise but he is selfish that he wants to be alive. I think it could work, but people's mouth is not that heavy, so he could just say it in once and Franks, Van Danns, and Dussel could go to the concentration camps.

You wrote what happened that time well. At the last part of the post, doesn't Mr. Kraler asks for more money to make the thief to not to tell on anyone instead of Mr. Dussel? Anyway, I agree that the thief was cheap, but on the other side, it was his self defence, too. I agree with this.

I think Mr. Dussel thought that they might be in more danger because of the cat, which alarmed the theif to notice that there was somebody there. This was a risk but then I agree with what you said.
